1971 Harley-Davidson
FX SuperGlide

4 Stroke
1200 cc (74 cu. in.)

Believe it or not, this bike was Rick's very first Harley. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures from before it was taken apart. It had been changed to look like a 1978 Low Rider. It wasn't a bad looking ride, but it looked nothing like it was meant to.

This should prove to be an interesting project. Here on the table is what I have to start with. Correct frame, right transmission.  The motor will be right as soon as I clean it up and paint the cylinders silver.  Wrong seat, wrong fork tubes & wrong triple tree.

Guess I have a lot of parts to dig up...

Rick does not want this to be a show bike.  He want to be able to put a good bit of time in the saddle without having to worry too much about the bike.  So instead of fresh from the factory new, we will be shooting for "restored daily rider" (all the right parts in all the right places, just maybe a little worn).

The frame still has original factory stickers and the paint is in fair condition, so we will clean it up and start out by getting a rolling chassis together.
